The smallest state of India is dotted with numerous beaches all along the coast. Neatly tucked into the South-West coast of India, Goa is a house to pristine beaches and several other water bodies. Here we shall list some of the best beaches which aren’t frequently visited.
1.Keri Beach
Situated along the northernmost belt of Goa, Keri Beach (Querim beach) is a less frequented beach. There aren’t many hotels and shacks around the place. During low tide, the beach is glistening with jelly fish, star fish and sea shells. Across the banks of the river lies an unexplored village Tiracol which also houses the Tiracol Fort on the extreme tip of Goa. The ferry plying from Keri to Tiracol every half an hour takes you to the fort. You are treated with a magnificent view of the Keri beach from a top the fort. An ancient church is also located inside the fort.
Distance from Panjim Church : 42 Km, (Around 1.5 hours drive, towards North)
2.Ashvem Beach
Ashvem Beach is another best kept secret of the Northern coast of Goa. It lies between Mandrem Beach and Morjim beach and can be easily reached via Siolim. This beach is the breeding spot for the rare turtle species – Olive Ridley Turtles. Located away from the hustle bustle of the city, this remote beach is perfect to spend some time with your friends or family.
Distance from Panjim Church : 30 Km, (Around an hour drive, towards North)
3.Mandrem Beach
This beach is ideal if you are heading for a therapeutical session at the beach. There are yoga retreats in the vicinity and you can go here for some spiritually slanted exercises. It’s beautifully sandwiched between Arambol and the hippie beach – Arambol. You can either take a long walk or just relax at this scenic shore.
Distance from Panjim Church : 30 Km, (Around an hour drive, towards North)
4.Siridao Beach
This very beautiful beach is another gem hidden next to the capital city – Panjim. Made of coarse sand and a variety of sea shells all along the shore, the beach is ideal for a relaxing evening. The beach is a belt of shore at the mouth of Zuari River. The rocky beach is in a village dominated by the fishing community. So you find a lot of fishing boats along the secluded shore.
Distance from Panjim Church : 10 Km, (Around 20 min drive, towards south)
5.Little vagator Beach
Located South of Vagator beach, this little beach is accessible by walking down a steep hill. There isn’t much activity happening on this beach and it is secluded at most times. The climb up hill of the steep steps gets a bit tiring, but spending a quiet evening at this beach is totally worth it.
Distance from Panjim Church : 20 Km, (Around 40 min drive, towards north)
6.Hawaii Beach
It’s hard to believe that this little paradise exists just a few kilometres away from the buzzing Panjim city. This beach is accessible by climbing down a few stairs next to Dona Paula Beach. The virgin beach is a haven for sunset lovers and people who are seeking solitude. Since it is easily accessible, a couple of Goan youngsters frequent the beach at times. But even if they are, they mind their own business, so you pretty much have the beach to yourself.
Distance from Panjim Church : 7 Km, (Around 15 drive, towards South)
