If you find yourself in Dubai and fancy a break from the usual tourist hotspots, why not take a walk on the wild side and pay a visit to the Dubai Crocodile Park? Just remember to keep your wits about you, your limbs safely tucked away, and your camera ready for that once-in-a-lifetime selfie with a crocodile. After all, where else can you experience the thrill of the wild without ever leaving the comfort of the city?
1. Outdoor Crocodile Park
The Dubai crocodile park is home to 250 Nile crocodiles of all ages, right from eggs to our laidback oldies. Well of course, some of our adventure enthusiasts might want to have a personal visit with these crocs, but that would mean you digging up your own grave. Hence, you are allowed to watch these crocodiles live in their natural habitat from a 5 meters’ distance in length with a protected glass barrier. You can watch them on the islands, lakes, waterfalls and sandbanks as well.
*Go ahead for the Baby crocodile encounter, Daily 12:00pm-12:30pm & 4pm-4:30pm*
2. Natural History Crocodile Museum
For those seeking a more up-close-and-personal encounter with the scaly residents, the Crocodile Museum beckons. Here, visitors can marvel at the remains of deceased crocodiles, preserved for eternity in the form of skull exhibits. It’s a veritable treasure trove of crocodilian history and geography, sure to thrill even the most ardent reptile enthusiasts.
3. African Lake Themed Crocodile Aquarium
The Crocodile Aquarium offers the chance to feed these fearsome predators. For a nominal fee, visitors can dangle morsels of meat over the water and watch as the crocodiles snap them up with lightning speed. It’s an adrenaline rush like no other, but remember: you’re feeding them, not the other way around. Let’s just say you won’t find any ‘swim with the crocodile’ experiences here.
