Sunset Shoot in Goa: 5 Places guaranteed for the perfect shot

Photography in Goa can be a great experience. Especially when there’s great locations involved. But a good photograph not only includes a good scenery but also good lighting. And what better way to get the most aesthetically pleasing and natural lighting than a sunset in Goa. Here are 5 places in Goa that make for the perfect place for sunset photography in Goa.

5. Mangroves at Chorao

The river area that surrounds the Mandovi consists of mangrove vegetation. These make for an ideal spot for sunset photography in Goa. And it’s not just the great photos either.  Mangrove ecosystems are among the most productive ones known to us. They provide refuge and breeding grounds for several varieties of fish and insects which fall at the base of the food-chain.

The dense vegetation lets you play around with different kinds of lighting, adding a different kind of dept to your shots.

4. Ozran beach, Goa

Neatly tucked in between Anjuna Beach and Vagator, Ozran Beach is a small bay, mainly used by tourists. An ideal place for a some sunset beach photoshoot in Goa, Ozran is made up of soft golden sands lined by gentle waves. The sand allows for a pretty dramatic reflective lighting against the scenic backdrop. Ozran gets quite windy during the month of October, so you could use that to your advantage for some natural effects in your photographs.

3. Caranzalem Fields

Sometimes it’s good to return to a simpler time. A field serves the purpose well. Sitting on the pavement while cool breeze blows across your face and the green plants sway nonchalantly to and fro. A magical sight indeed.

But be sure to show up at 6PM for a beautiful shot of the field against the backdrop of a sunset.

2. Ruins of St Augustine Church,Velha Goa

The crumbling remains of the Church of St. Augustine perhaps serve as the perfect metaphor for the fallen era of Portuguese colonisation. All that remains of the old church is a 46-metre high tower which was once the belfry of the structure.

. The tower’s huge bell was moved in 1871 to the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Panaji, where it can be seen (and heard) today. The reddish ruins lighten up in the sunset rays and are perfect for adding a rustic touch to your sunset photography in Goa.

1. Carambolim Lake

Carambolim lake is situated just behind the Karmali Railway station in Old Goa. It is a wetland ecosystem hosting a number of wintering visitors as well as some resident birds.

Not less impressive are the beauty and diversity of flora of the lake. Its surface is sprinkled with water lilies and colorful exotic plants. The surroundings of the lake are picturesque, green, covered with rice fields and offers a great spot to get a shot of the sunset.
