Things to do in Nusa Penida on your next vacation in Bali

Although Nusa Penida has been a quiet island in the Bali tourism scene for the last 60 years. It has slowly begun to attract a new generation of tourists. The untouched beauty of the place makes it an ideal choice for those who want to spend the extra trouble to get there. Ferries leave multiple times per day from Sanur. If you book it in advance often you can have your pick-up from the hotel included. 

Here are a few things you can do in Nusa Penida on your next trip to Bali.

4. Head out for some snorkelling at Crystal bay

Crystal bay is one not to be missed vacation spot on Nusa Penida. During low seasons, this beach is practically deserted, giving exclusivity which is now hard to find in Bali. Although it may not have the whites sand. The seas here are clear and it is also a great place to snorkel and enjoy the rich unspoilt marine life.

3. Check out Teletubbies Hill

Do you recall the wide-open plains in Teletubbie land with the yellow sun baby? Yeah, who doesn’t? Well although this place isn’t the same. The countless soft-rounded, grass hills are guaranteed to give you the perfect shot for Instagram.

2. Take a dip at the Angel’s Billabong lagoon

This is a lagoon set in between black volcanic rocks. It is located on a cliff down from the broken beach. Many people came here just to take pictures and some also attempt to swim but do be careful of the powerful waves that swept in. At the mouth of the river, the green-hued water is calm and clear.

1. Travelling Around Nusa Penida

Why travel like a tourist when you can be a traveller. Nusa Penida is not as developed as Bali. The roads here are not completely done up and are quite rough at places. If you want to explore this island on your own, you could rent a car or a bike. However, do so only if you’re absolutely confident even on bad roads. An offroad dirtbike is the best way to go.
