4. Go trekking into the wild

Located at the North eastern border of Goa 50 km’s from Panaji. Chorla ghat is truly a place lost in time. Stunning landscapes…vibrant colours…and the fragrance of wet mud. Relatively untouched by civilization, it shies away from Goa’s ever so sunny climate and engulfs one with drops of mountain mist and utter silence. So there’s no doubt, this is the kind of place you want to head out for a romantic outing. Be sure to download offline data on Google maps though. Don’t want to be lost for too long.

The brightly coloured streets of Panjim are a perfect scene for a romantic walk in Goa. Fontainhas is the oldest Latin Quarter in Goa, very close to the hustle and bustle of Panjim city, but cut off from the same.

Flanked by houses painted in blue, yellow and many more colours, Fontainhas gives away a strong Portuguese vibe. So, think out of the ordinary and add a vintage romantic flavor to your valentines day in Goa.

The woman in question and Paulo, a local fisherman were lovers separated by their caste and nationality and with no other option left, they resorted end their lives, by jumping off a cliff. The Statue on the rock is said to be dedicated to them. A truly gut wrenching story. But a very romantic one indeed.
