International Kite Festival 2017
Organized by Belgaum Kite Festival in association with Goa Tourism, the 7th edition of International Kite Festival will take place at Miramar on January 17th and 18th, 2017. Kites and helium balloons of different sizes and colours mesmerizes the visitors. Last year, the fest saw 15 international teams displaying their kite-craft alongside 20 teams from India. Around 3 lakh people gather at the beach to witness this 2-day long event.

Grape Escapade 2017
The Grape Escapade is a 4-day extravaganza of food, music and the finest Indian and international wines, aiming to promote Goa as a lifestyle destination. It is organised by Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd in association with Department of Tourism. The ‘Grape-Stomping’ sessions and ‘Grape Escapade Queen’ Contest are definitely the highlights of this festival. With wine to sip and live music concerts to entertain you while sitting along the shores of River Mandovi, what more can you ask for?

Goa Carnival 2017
The most famous festival in Goa, Goa Carnival has been celebrated since the 18th century. The festival follows one theme each year and designs its spectacles around it. It takes place every year in February before the commencement of Lent. An array of decorated floats and people hailing from different villages dressed up in colourful attires representing their culture and tradition is more than a delight to watch. Know more…

Shigmo, Goa 2017
Shigmotsav is a spring festival celebrated in Goa showcasing the traditional folk dances, street plays and elaborately built floats that depict various scenes from regional mythology. Musical instruments like drums, flutes and dhols which are also part of the parade lifts up your mood. One can also call it a Hindu version of Carnival. The festive parades will begin from Ponda and will follow to the other towns in the next few days.

Oktoberfest Goa
The Spirit of “letting go” will return to Goa again this year with Oktoberfest Goa 2017. It is an Electronic Dance Music festival which is the brain-child of BullsEye Entertainment and has been happening in Goa every October since 2011. Last year was a great success for them with the likes of some awesome DJs like Nucleya, Marnik and Henry Fong playing for the event.

IFFI Goa 2017
The International Film Festival of India will be back with its 48th edition in November 2017. It aims at providing a common platform to the cinemas across the world to project the art of film making. IFFI is celebrated with great fervour in Goa since 2004. Over the years, it has gained the patronage of several renowned film personalities. Film enthusiasts from different parts of the world fly to Goa to witness this 9-day Gala. Overall, if you’re a person who loves watching movies, this is the festival for you!

Exposition of St.Francis Xavier
The feast of St. Francis Xavier commemorates the dedication and service that he showed through his outreach of faith and social work in Europe and throughout Asia. The Old Goa Church houses his mortal remains which are displayed to the public once in ten years. Special prayers are conducted every year from Nov 21st with the main feast being observed on December 3. The feast also has a huge fair put up outside the Church, selling festive treats and household items.
