Goa’s Serendipitous Encounters

Goa plunges into a fantastical creative experiment with the Serendipity Arts Festival. The six-day artistic exploration from 15 to 22 December encourages audiences to take a fresh look at life through the perspectives of its multi-disciplinary art forms. Otherwise abandoned buildings are brought to life to create compelling storytelling venues where there’s a free-flowing discourse between the artist and viewer. As always the curators across all forms whether art, dance, theatre, and food have done a splendid exercise in unfolding rich, cultural experiences. This year, Goa takes focus with a sizeable portfolio of the festival exploring local culture and traditions.

Seeking to raise awareness about the importance of our continued and collective engagement with local environments, the Made in Goa exhibit is an architectural competition that showcases the final 15 entries.

Wendell Rodricks explores the origins of the Pano Bhaju

Designer Wendell Rodricks journeys the historical silk route to trace the inspirations behind the Pano Bhaju. The costume used by Goan women for ceremonial occasions like singing the mando, finds it’s origins from across the Far East.
